Student Affairs Development

The International Student Center (ISC) developed ideas for an “SDSU Scholarships Fund for Future Global Leaders,” that will provide $1 million annually in scholarships for SDSU students engaged in the ISC’s new proposed “Institute for Global Leadership.” The ISC will be looking to the Division of Student Affairs for ways to advance this concept for inclusion in SDSU’s Comprehensive Campaign.

Student Affairs designated $600,000 in funding to construct the International Student Village.

The Aztec Parents Association awarded $20,000 to develop a study abroad scholarship program.

The Aztec Parents Fund continues to grow. The 2006/2007 campaign raised more than $305,000, compared with $226,333 raised in 2005/2006. Parent grants are awarded to departments to develop new programming or enhance existing programming, and due to the growth of the fund, the Aztec Parents Association increased the amount that can be requested from $10,000 to $20,000.

Membership in the Aztec Parents Association has increased from less than 1,000 in 1997 to almost 15,000 in 2007.
