The TRiO Student Support Services Project at SDSU is Here for You!

Have you ever wondered whether the word TRiO is a reference to the three staff members in the High Tech Center, who – like a team of super heroes – are here to save the day? If so, you wouldn’t be far off. However, we like to think of TRiO as an acronym that stands for to Teach, to Reach, to Inspire Opportunities.

The TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) project at SDSU has the singular goal of promoting the academic success of its participants. As you may have noticed, we do this in a variety of ways: through academic counseling, writing center services, academic skills workshops, and sometimes just offering a friendly ear.

Ultimately, though, we’re here for you; if there’s something you need from us, don’t be shy about asking. You already know that we’re here to provide writing assistance, but that’s not all we do. If you’re frustrated by finances, struggling with time management, or need help brainstorming on an assignment, we’re here to help. If you need advice on how to communicate effectively with a professor, we’re here for that too. On the off chance that we don’t ourselves provide the resources or services you need, we’ll help you locate them. So, if you aren’t sure whether we can help you, just ask.

Keep a close eye on our regularly updated Webpage: http://studentaffairs.sdsu.edu/sds/triosss. If there’s something else you’d like to see on this page, send your suggestion to Julie at jmoss@projects.sdsu.edu. Also, check your email in-box every Monday morning for a weekly announcement from the TRiO staff alerting you to upcoming workshops and activities.

We’re looking forward to working with you this semester!
