Transfer Orientation (August 2017)

All transfer students are expected to attend New Student Orientation

Here’s why you must attend:

  • Register for classes (if basic registration is paid with no holds)
  • Receive a preliminary degree evaluation showing how your classes will transfer to SDSU
  • Understand General Education, major, testing, and graduation requirements
  • Receive essential academic planning and course registration assistance
  • Learn how to use SDSU’s Web registration system
  • Meet in groups by major with Assistant Dean, faculty advisor, and trained student Ambassadors
  • Ease your transition to SDSU
  • Learn what it means to be a responsible member of the SDSU community

Orientation also includes:

  • New Student and Family Convocation
    Saturday, August 26, 2017
    A ceremony to officially welcome all new students and their families to the SDSU community. All new students are expected to attend and are encouraged to bring their families and guests with them.
  • Welcome Week (for students only)
    Friday, August 25 – Saturday, September 2, 2017
    A series of programs and activities to welcome you to campus life

Space is limited for each orientation program. Make your reservation online beginning Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 10 am (PST).

Do not make travel arrangements before you have made a reservation for New Student Orientation. Once you are in the registration system you will be able to choose ONLY the dates still available fo your major. If you can travel to San Diego only once for any SDSU events, you are expected to attend New Student Orientation.
