Program Overview

SDSU Exchange Programs

    Search for SDSU Exchange programs in the Aztecs Abroad database.

  • Semester or academic year
  • Enroll in regular classes at partner university and integrate into mainstream campus life
  • Pay SDSU tuition and earn resident credit/ financial aid and scholarships applicable
  • Applications due by February 20th for Fall/AY, September 20th for Spring and March 1st for     Summer
  • Eligibility Requirements
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 required (certain programs may have higher GPA requirements)
  • Receive strong faculty recommendations and, if necessary, strong language proficiency report
  • Demonstrate seriousness of purpose and clear reasons for selecting a particular study abroad     program
  • Students must be enrolled at SDSU the semester prior to program start dates
  • Not be on Academic or Disciplinary probationary status during the semester or summer abroad

CSU International Programs (CSU IP)

  • Academic year only
  • Program structure varies by location; some include intensive pre-session language course
  • Pay CSU average tuition fees and earn resident credit/ financial aid and scholarships applicable
  • Placement is major-specific for some locations
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 required
  • Students may participate in program their first year at SDSU as transfer student from a California     community college
  • Applications due byFebruary 1st (May 1st for Australia and South Africa)

International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)

Visit the ISEP website

  • Summer, semester, or academic year programs
  • Enroll in regular classes at host university and integrate into mainstream campus life
  • Network of over 100 universities available; apply to up to 10 university choices with 1 application
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75 for most programs
  • Students must be enrolled at SDSU the semester prior to program start dates
  • Priority application deadlines: February 1st for fall, August 15th for spring, March 1st for summer

      ISEP Exchange

        Pay tuition, room & board package price to SDSU

        Earn resident credit/ financial aid applicable

 
      ISEP Direct

        Pay tuition, room & board package price to ISEP

        Earn transfer credit/ financial aid applicable


SDSU Faculty-Led Programs

    Visit the College of Extended Studies website

  • Summer and winter/spring break programs
  • Travel abroad with a group of U.S. students and an SDSU faculty member
  • Advising and application through Extended Studies or academic department
  • Program fees vary by program, but all grant resident credits
  • GPA and language eligibility requirements vary
  • Review CES webpage for application deadlines and other details

 

Independent Programs

  • Widest variety of program offerings, but more expensive than SDSU programs
  • Advising and application process through non-SDSU program provider
  • Pay fees directly to program provider, financial aid applicable with SDSU approval prior to     departure
  • Transfer credit, but still applicable toward SDSU graduation with major advisor approval
  • Students must be enrolled at SDSU the semester prior to program start dates
  • GPA and language eligibility requirements vary
  • Applications due April 15th for Summer/Fall/AY and November 15th for Spring


International Business Majors

If you are an International Business major, you must either complete an internship abroad or study abroad in order to graduate from the IB program. For more details visit the International Business Web Site.


Internship/Work Abroad Opportunities

SDSU students can take advantage of a number of internship/work abroad opportunities to gain first-hand practical experience. Through AIESEC and the International Business/Economics Internship Office, students can seek out overseas opportunities in over 40 countries.
