The ancient Indian art of Raja Yoga meditation is intended to increase sense of peace, contentment, and happiness. Increased productivity, has accelerated the pace of life and increased stress levels across the globe to alarming rates. The effects are evident from statistics from various aspects of life like personal health, relationships, social "toxicity" and the environment. This presentation includes research on how the mind works, how to create states of mind, effects of mind on quality of life, the power of a quiet mind and how to achieve a quiet state of mind.
Global Obesity Epidemic: Is There a Solution? by Dr. Elva M. Arredondo

The global obesity epidemic is a problem that threatens a lot more than one's health. It is a direct threat to the nation's social, economic and physical health. Globally there has been a rapid growth in commecialized foods that are laced with excess sugars and unhealthy fats which has led to an increase in obesity on a global scale. SDSU Professor, Dr. Elva Arredondo from the Division of Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences will explain factors that contribute to the increase of the obesity epidemic and ways to address it.
